INTERREG Estonia-Latvia Cross-Border Cooperation Programme "Promotion of Cross-Border Labour Market Integration and Employment"

Eligibility period of the programme: 01.08.2017 – 31.07.2019

Promoters of activities: The State Employment Agency of Latvia, Valka Municipality Council, Valga City Government, Estonian Unemployment Insurance Fund.

Programme objective: Interreg is an Estonian-Latvian cross-border cooperation programme aimed at enhancing cooperation between Valga and Valka municipalities and the Estonian and Latvian labour market establishments in order to promote cross-border labour mobility in the Valga-Valka region and to enhance jobseekers’ and employers’ opportunities for finding suitable work or employees.  In the framework of the programme, the Estonian Unemployment Insurance Fund, in cooperation with the project partners, informs job seekers about job and training opportunities in the Valga-Valka region, helps employers in this region find suitable employees from the neighbouring country and, if necessary, supports the recruitment and adaptation of their employees.

Budget: The budget of the Unemployment Insurance Fund is 105,002 euros, of which 85% is financed by the programme budget and 15% from the budget of the Unemployment Insurance Fund.
