If a beneficiary of international protection who works for an employer requires supervision by a mentor, the employer can apply for payment of professional mentoring remuneration from the Estonian Unemployment Insurance Fund.
The objective of this service is to increase the participation of beneficiaries of international protection in employment, facilitate their integration into Estonian society, increase their readiness to work and establish and recover working habits, including support their induction into working life and continuing employment.
The payment of professional mentoring remuneration can be applied for on behalf of the employee within five years of the employee’s first receipt of an Estonian residence permit as a beneficiary of international protection or receipt of a certificate of an applicant for international protection that allows them to work in Estonia.
Professional mentoring remuneration is paid to the employer if the employer submits an application within four months of commencement of work by the employee for the employer.
Remuneration is paid to the employer for a maximum of four months from the time the employee starts work in accordance with the rates specified in subsection 15 (6) of the Labour Market Services and Benefits Act.
