A U1 form on Estonian unemployment insurance periods can be obtained from the Unemployment Insurance Fund upon your application. You can fill in an electronic form or a printout.
The Unemployment Insurance Fund fills in the U1 form on the basis of the data of the unemployment insurance premiums database, however, in addition, you or your employer should submit documents verifying the basis for and the time of termination of your last employment and the average salary for the work.
In some member countries the periods of employment are also taken into consideration in calculation of the amount of unemployment insurance benefit (i.e persons having worked in Estonia can include the employment periods before the establishment of the unemployment insurance, i.e before 1 January 2002). If you want the Unemployment Insurance Fund to include your working periods in your U1 form, you have to add an authorized copy of your employment record book (including the front page with the personal data of the owner of the employment record book), employment contracts or contracts for services or certificates of the emloyer(s) to the application for issuing the U1 form.
