The amount of your unemployment insurance benefit for one calendar day shall be calculated on the basis of your average salary for one calendar day.

The average salary for one calendar day shall be calculated on the basis of 9 payments from which unemployment insurance premiums have been withheld before the last 3 months of employment (the last 3 payments are not taken into account).

The amount of your unemployment insurance benefit shall be the following percentage of your average salary for one calendar day:

 1) 50% for the first 100 calendar days;

 2) 40% since the 101st calendar day.

If your average salary for one calendar day is higher than three times the average salary for one calendar day in Estonia during the last year, then the benefit shall be calculated based on such amount. The maximum amount of unemployment insurance benefit in 2020 is 53,43 EUR for the first 100 calendar days and 42,74 EUR since the 101st calendar day (before tax).

The minimum amount of unemployment insurance benefit for one calendar day is 50% of the minimum monthly salary for the previous calendar year divided by 30. The minimum amount of unemployment insurance benefit in 2020 is 9 EUR for all of the calendar days.
