Amount and transition period of working ability allowance
The daily rate of the working ability allowance is 15,13 euros, the amount of which per calendar day is:
- for a person with partial working ability – 57% of the daily rate (8,6241 euros per day; approximately 258,72 euros per month);
- for a person with no working ability – 100% of the daily rate (15,13 euros per day; approximately 453,90 euros per month).
If the Social Insurance Board has established incapacity for work for at least two years, as of 2017 you will be subject to an exception upon transitioning from the old system to the new one. If the pension for incapacity for work which you were paid earlier was greater than the working ability allowance rate in force, you will be paid the working ability allowance in the same amount as you previously received. This continues until indexation, after which the amount of the working ability allowance becomes greater than the previous amount of the pension for incapacity for work. It is important that you attend the reassessment at the Unemployment Insurance Fund on the date of re-examination indicated in the decision on the results of the medical examination for establishment of incapacity for work.
If you submit an application for working ability assessment and a working ability allowance during the period of validity of your permanent incapacity for work, you will be entitled to receive the allowance as of the date on which the payment of the pension for incapacity for work was terminated. Since the working ability allowance is paid retroactively for the previous month (unlike the pension for incapacity for work, which is paid in advance), you receive an advance payment of the working ability allowance and your income is not interrupted during the transition to the new system.
